Dimensional routed components

Routed Sign Letters, Numbers and Logo Shapes

Letters can be part of a routed panel or manufactured as separate dimensional components. The correct method depends on size, thickness, face treatment and how the installer will locate them.

Routed sign construction

The finished sign drives the material and toolpath decisions.

Flat-cut or dimensional letters can mount directly to a wall, panel or fabricated sign face. A placement pattern can keep spacing and baseline relationships intact.

HDU is useful for routed depth and painted exterior letters. Acrylic is useful for clean flat-cut profiles, layered logos and many interior applications. Building letter sets may require patterns, studs or installer coordination. The sections below direct each project to the most relevant production page.

Integrated raised copy becomes part of the panel

For carved signs, letters may remain proud while the background is routed away. This avoids separate pieces and creates a strong traditional relief.

The approved project is evaluated as a complete sign. Tool access, paint build, handling, mounting and shipping can change what is practical even when the screen artwork looks simple.

Scripts and small details need practical stroke widths

A delicate font may have tails or counters that become too fragile at the requested size. We check cutter access, material strength and finish build before committing a decorative alphabet to production.

The approval drawing should show the final letter size and stroke geometry so fragile details can be corrected before material is cut.

How the production process works

Send the project

Provide the finished size, artwork or reference, quantity and delivery ZIP.

Review the construction

We check material, routing depth, edge strength, layers and mounting provisions.

Approve the drawing

Dimensions, spelling, colors and component locations are confirmed before machining.

Machine the parts

CNC routing creates the profiles, pockets, V-grooves, relief and separate components.

Finish and inspect

Hand preparation, coatings, assembly and detail checks complete the physical work.

Pack for delivery

The finished sign or components are protected and labeled for the receiving customer or installer.

Common questions

Routed Sign Letters, Numbers and Logo Shapes FAQ

How thick can routed letters be?

Thickness is selected around letter size, edge detail, mounting and visual depth. Common sign work may use several thicknesses rather than one standard.

Do you provide a mounting pattern?

A paper or digital placement pattern can be included when the installation method and scale are known.

Can you make script lettering?

Yes when the connected strokes and narrow details remain strong enough at the requested size.

Can letters be painted before shipping?

Yes. Raw, primed and finished letter sets can be quoted.

Can you ship routed signs nationwide?

Yes. Manufacturing and nationwide shipping are core parts of the service.

Do you provide nationwide installation?

No. Standard service is manufacturing and shipping; the buyer or a local sign professional handles field installation.

Can a quote start from a reference photo?

Yes. A photograph can establish design intent, but final production still requires verified dimensions and usable artwork.
